Advocacy

PTA is the largest child advocacy group in the country. In Washington state there are 133,000 members (voices) representing children in Washington State to advocate on legislative issues such as education funding, hot and healthy school meals, seat belt laws, the juvenile justice system and so much more. Our role and goal at Jackson PTSA is to have one PTSA member for every Jackson student in our school. We keep an eye on any legislative issues that affect Jackson families directly and will post links to keep you informed of legislative events and activities you can be involved in.

In a typical year, PTA members would travel to Olympia for a day full of advocacy. To be involved, we encourage you to sign up to receive action alerts to participate in advocacy from home. Learn more about the Focus on Advocacy program.
